"The total amount raised for this years bike ride is a whopping $504,109 and everyone involved should be congratulated" said incoming President Ken Tippet. "It is a testament to the tireless effort of the organizing committee, participants and sponsors. Given this year's ride was the 10th Anniversary, it was great to see our fundraising target exceeded" he said. "Personally, I would like to thank the 2008 committee for organizing such a successful event. I cannot reiterate how important this event is to ensure the research into finding a cure for children's cancer continues" said Ken.

Entries for the BigW Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride 2009 will open on Saturday 28th February instead of the 1st of March. Stay tuned for more details.
